
On Sunday, Bandipora police in north Kashmir, said it rescued a non-local woman who had fallen victim to human trafficking.
The rescue operation led to the arrest of Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh, as the individual who illegally purchased the victim.
According to police, the woman was sold to Zahoor Ahmad Sheikh from Banyari Ajas, Bandipora.
Following the rescue, authorities initiated legal proceedings, with FIR registered at the Sumbal Police Station.
Further details regarding the ongoing investigation are awaited as authorities continue to pursue the case of the rescued victim.
Earlier this month, the SIA raided 18 locations in Srinagar in connection with Human trafficking of foreign women as reported by The Kashmiriyat.
