‘Deposit 22 crore in 10 days’: Officials serve notice to Fair price medical shop in Shopian

After assuming the charge, the Medical Superintendent District Hospital Shopian has issued a notice to Fair Price Medical Shop, asking the owner to deposit a pending amount to the tune of Rs 22 crores within 10 days.

“You were allotted Fair Price Medical Shop on 12-09-2012 for being as the highest bidder for Rs. 51.01 Lacs for a period of five years, this office had issued Notice for recovery of balance amount to the tune of Rs. 21,96,000/- (Twenty One Lac and ninety six thousand) vide No, MS/DH- SPN/831-36, dated: 07-08-2017 and you preferred writ petition before the Hon’ble High Court of J&K against the said notice,” reads the notice, a copy of which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).

“The Hon’ble High Court of J&K passed stay order under OWP No. 1514/2017, IA No. 01/2017 with respect to the operation/implementation of the impugned notice bearing No. MS/DH-SPN/831-36, dated: 07-08-2017, the outstanding/pending payment against Fair Price Shop, C/O M/S Amir Medical Store till 31-12-2022 calculated by this office is Rs. 2,29,36479/-(Two Crore Twenty nine lacs and Thirty Six thousand Four Hundred and Seventy Nine) and also stands submitted to the office of Deputy Commissioner, Shopian vide this office No. MS/DH-SPN/Accts/2022-23/149-50, Dated: 18/01/2023 by the then Medical Superintendent District Hospital, Shopian,” it reads.

“An amount to the tune of Rs. 2,29,36479/- is outstanding against you, out of which an amount to the tune of Rs. 21,96,000/- has been stayed by the Hon’ble Court in OWP No. 1514/2017, IA No. 01/2017 and therefore, you are directed to deposit the outstanding amount of Rs. 2.29,36479/- (excluding the amount stayed by the Hon’ble High Court of J&K till the outcome of writ petition bearing No. OWP No. 1514/2017, IA No. 01/2017), within ten days,” it added—(KNO)
