On Tuesday, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah visited the family of Dr. Shahnawaz Ahmad Dar, who was one of seven victims killed in a militant attack at a construction site in the Gagangeer area of Sonamarg on Sunday evening.
Abdullah, accompanied by his advisor Nasir Aslam Wani and Khansahib MLA Saif-ud-din Bhat, met with Dr. Shahnawaz’s family to express his condolences.
During the visit, MLA Bhat informed reporters that Abdullah assured Dr. Shahnawaz’s son that he would personally cover all his educational expenses.
The attack, which claimed the lives of seven people, including Dr. Shahnawaz, has sent shockwaves through the region.
