On Sunday, in an event at Uttar Pradesh’s Khushinagar, while addressing a crowd, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath targeted the Muslim community by saying that those who used to say “Abba Jaan” were digesting the ration before 2017.
“Under PM Modi’s leadership, there is no place for appeasement politics… Before 2017 was everyone able to get ration? Only those who used to say ‘Abba Jaan’ were digesting the ration,” Adityanath said.
By mentioning the term “Abba Jaan,” Yogi not only aimed at the Muslim community, some believe, but also aimed it at his rival Akhilesh Yadav, the former C.M. Mulayam Singh Yadav’s son.
Reportedly, the last month, Yogi in the U.P. assembly hit out at what he termed as the promotion of vaccine hesitancy by the opposition, by saying that some only took the jab after their “Abba Jaan” did in a comment that came right after Mulayam Yadav got his jab.
