The Election Commission of India has revised the voter turnout for the first phase of the Jammu Kashmir assembly elections, held on September 18, to over 61%.

Initially, the overall voting percentage across 24 assembly segments was reported at 58.85%. The final figure has now been updated to 61.38%.

The Commission facilitated real-time tracking of voter turnout through its app, providing updates every two hours starting at 9:30 AM on election day.

The Chief Electoral Officer of J-K confirmed that all polling parties have returned safely, with final vote counts expected after postal ballots are processed.

Postal ballots include those from service voters, absentee voters (85+, persons with disabilities, essential services, etc.), and election duty personnel, with daily accounts shared with candidates as per established guidelines.
