One of Pakistan’s Senior Pakistani journalist & news anchor Javed Chaudhary has made several revelations after his meeting with former Pakistan army chief Gen (r) Qamar Javed Bajwa, South Asia Index reported.

Javed Chaudhary in an article revealed that Pakistan and India were close to reaching a peace agreement that would have allowed both nations to resume trade and put the Kashmir dispute on hold for 20 years.

In the course of backdoor diplomacy, ISI chief Faiz Hameed and India’s national security adviser Ajit Doval allegedly met multiple times in Arab countries, Javed claimed. It should be noted that various Indian media outlets reported on the meeting between Doval and Hameed in 2021.

Both parties in these sessions agreed that contact between Pakistan and India should be restarted. Trade was to be opened, both nations were to promise not to meddle in one another’s affairs or wage terrorism against one another, and the Kashmir dispute was to be settled bilaterally after 20 years. The background work was completed, and announcements would be made on April 9, 2021, during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to Pakistan.

According to him, “it was determined that Narendra Modi would visit Pakistan on April 9th, 2021 during a series of meetings between ISI chief Faiz Hameed and India’s National Security Advisor Ajit Doval in an Arab country. Modi, a follower of Hinglaj Mata, will go right to the temple and spend ten days there. He will meet with Imran Khan when he gets back and raise his arm in the air to declare friendship between the two nations.”

It was decided that PM Modi will also announce the opening of trade between the countries, and that they will not interfere in each other’s affairs or engage in terrorism. The plan was to leave the issue of Kashmir for 20 years. At the time, Shah Mehmood Qureshi told Imran Khan that his political fate will be sealed if he made a deal on Kashmir. Prime Minister Imran Khan backed out and the visit was subsequently canceled, the journalist claimed.

Javed Chaudhary, who is considered very close to former military chief General (r) Bajwa, has also made several others revelations after his meeting with former chief. In one of his article, he has claimed that former military chief told him that Imran Khan was too much arrogant and that it was military that kept MQM & other allied parties with Imran Khan for over three years.

It is important to note that in February 2021, both India & Pakistan surprised the world by announcing a ceasefire on Line of Control.

The surprise announcement was made in a joint statement by the militaries of the two countries on a ‘hotline contact’ between their directors general military operations (DGMOs), which had apparently taken place a day earlier.

The statement said: “Both sides agreed for strict observance of all agreements, understandings and cease firing along the LoC and all other sectors, with effect from midnight 24/25 February 2021,”
