In continuation of the special drive launched by Jammu Kashmir Police in Kokernag for destroying illegal poppy cultivation, the SDPO Kokernag and SHO Kokernag Mir Imtiyaz with his Police team were constituted for the said purpose.
SDPO Kokernag along with the SHO destroyed poppy cultivation spread to land measuring more than 30 Kanals in village Loharsenzi Kokernag, Islamabad (Anantnag) district, SDM Kokernag Owais Mushtaq was also present during the drive.
General public of the area have appreciated the action of Police team and have urged the authorities to continue this drive in nearby areas also.
While speaking to The Kashmiriyat, the police officials said, “Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding cultivation of contra bands in their neighborhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling & cultivation of contraband substances shall be dealt strictly under law.”
