The Jammu Kashmir police’s cyber as per on Friday has identified various persons who are “misusing social media by spreading a false propaganda to defame the government.”
As per the statement, one such person namely Tahir Nazir Shalla, son of Nazir Ahmed Shalla, who works in the education department was posting content standing in contravention of social media policy for government employees.
He has also been accused of running an anti-national campaign on social media and trying to create a false narrative.
The Police has accused Tahir of circulating highly “seditious and provocative posts” through his social media accounts which were highly prejudicial to maintenance of law and order.
Tahir, as per reports available to The Kashmiriyat has been arrested and subsequently handed over to police station Sopore by the cyber cell of Jammu Kashmir and booked under relevant sections of law.
