The Jammu Kashmir Police along with district administration Anantnag on Saturday inaugurated a High-Mast tricolour in the the south Kashmir district.
As per officials who spoke to The Kashmiriyat, the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) south Kashmir Range, Rayees Mohammed Bhat hoisted the flag in Anantnag.
Brigadier VSM, Cdr 1 Sect RR Amandeep Malhi and Chairman Municipal Council Anantnag Hilal Ahmed Shah were also present at the flag-hoisting event.
As per the officials the flag is visible from up to 10 kilometres in all directions and was hoisted at Anantnag Highground, which is the base to Indian Army’s 1 RR.
Students of Army Goodwill School High Ground were also present for the function.
The flag would become a landmark and epitome of patriotism in the hearts of the people of south Kashmir, officials added.
