The Indian Intelligence agencies have warned of a possible revolt within the Jammu Kashmir Police if Artilce 35 ‘a’ is tinkered with. They have also warned of a Massive unrest in Jammu Kashmir if the article that grants special status to Jammu Kashmir is changed or altered, a report published by NDTV Claimed.
The Superme court will hear a petition filed by a Delhi Based NGO, challenging the special status of Jammu Kashmir which was granted by a presidential order of 1954, defining “permanent residents of Jammu Kashmir.” It also bars non Kashmiri residents to purchase land in Jammu Kashmir.

The Intelligence agencies have written to the state government, warning a revolt in the police ranks if Article 35A is tinkered with, the report read. The trade unions, business associations, civil society groups and lawyers have been on protests already and have threatened to intensify their agitation if the Article was compromised.
