Police recovers ancient Sculpture from Budgam local

Jammu Kashmir Police has recovered an ancient Sculpture from a local in Sathran area in central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

Reliable sources told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that the Sculpture was recovered after a police party in Khag apprehended a person identified as Showkat Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Hassan, a resident of Sithran and during search police recovered ancient Sculpture from his possession.

They said that police got reports that the local resident had recovered the Sculpture probably while extracting sand in Srinagar.

“He was probably attempting to sell it but police recovered it from him before being sold,” they added.

A police officer confirmed the recovery of Sculpture to news agency Kashmir Dot Com and said they would inform the Archeological Survey of India officials who will ascertain its age and other related aspects. (KDC)
