A head constable was killed while an assistant Sub Inspector of Police was injured in an ongoing encounter in Billwar area of Kathua district.
An official told that during initial firefight, a head constable was killed also one assistant sub-inspector of Police was injured.
The injured ASI was immediately evacuated to hospital for advanced treatment, they said.
Meanwhile, the operation in the area was underway when this story was being filed.(GNS)
