Haji Bashir u Din, a prominent religious and social figure from South Kashmir passed away on Sunday morning.
Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, locals said that the deceased who was a resident of Akhran area in Kulgam breathed his last on Sunday morning at the Government Medical College in Anantnag district.
Peer Bashir u Din is highly revered in south Kashmir for his religious and social services to the society and his passing away is being widely condoled by people across various social and political divides.
The deceased was a maternal uncle of Anantnag based Kashmiri journalist, Mudasir Qadri who works for ETV urdu.
The deceased was the father of Peer Shabir Ahmed, Peer Shahnawaz Ahmed, Peerzada Javaid Ahmed and Peerzada Arshid Hussain.
Hundreds of people have gathered for his nimaze Janazah at Akhran Kulgam.
