Protests hit Hajin, moments after the news of the killing of the local militant commander, Saleem Paray spread in his native.
Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that scores of people on Saturday evening raising slogans staged demonstrations in the North Kashmir’s Hajin town, moments after his killing.
Saleem Parray was killed during an encounter in the Shalimar area of Srinagar in a joint operation of Government Forces against the militants.
One more Pakistani militant was killed during the encounter, Police said, adding, “Arms and ammunition were recovered from the possession of the duo.”
Saleem was active since 2017 and is believed to have escaped several cordons laid down for him.
As per Police Saleem was involved in several militancy related crimes.
