A woman was allegedly poisoned by her husband in the Kakapora area of Pulwama district in south Kashmir.
Sources told The Kashmiriyat that a man forced the poison down his wife’s throat from Kakapora, causing her immense pain and humiliation.
The woman was rushed to the nearby hospital where she was given medical care.
According to the Police, the incident took place shortly after her husband served her a divorce notice.
The woman was given medical attention, and her statement has become the focal point of the ongoing investigation.
In addition to the victim’s testimony, a written application was filed by her brother, Mudasir Ahmad Pinchu, a resident of Khanabal, Anantnag (currently residing in Batengoo)
The testimony named suspects in the crime: Imtiyaz Ahmad Dar, son-in-law of Gh Mohd Fashu; Nawaz Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Rahem Dar; and Manzoor Ahmad Fashu, son of Gh Mohd Fashu, all residents of Kakapora.
Following the complaint, the Jammu Kashmir police have registered the case as FIR No. 32/2024 under sections 85, 109, and 49 of the BNS Act.
While no arrests have been made yet, the investigation is ongoing, with authorities working diligently to ensure a thorough and transparent process.
