After the abrogation of Article – 370 was last year, several main stream Politicians, Religious, Social and Economic leaders were detained to prevent any kind of Mass Protest against Abrogation of Article – 370 by the administration in Jammu Kashmir.
In a press release issued to The Kashmiriyat, he said that he was detained keeping in view the public support of Moulana Parray Hassan Afzal Firdousi before 2nd of August at 12:30 am.
He was subsequently lodged at Police station, Parimpora till 16th of August, 2019.
He was later on shifted to Central Jail Srinagar on 16th August 2019 and on 22nd of August, 2019 – he was shifted to Central Jail Agra.
He was released on 18th August, 2020 after more than 12 months.
Pertinent to mention here is that journalists, lawyers, religious clerics were among the hundreds detained before the Indian Government abrogated the special status of Jammu Kashmir on 5th of August last year.
