Authorities on Tuesday imposed restrictions in parts of central Kashmir’s Budgam district to prevent the assembly of people on the eve of Ashura.
The officials said that the restrictions were imposed on the assembly of people as a precautionary measure to maintain law and order on the occasion of Ashura, which marks the martyrdom anniversary of the grandson of last Prophet of Islam.
“There are no restrictions on the movement of the people anywhere else in Kashmir, including in Srinagar city,” officials said.
