Reuters Chief Photographer Danish Siddiqui Killed during clashes in Kandhar

Sources have confirmed that, on 16th July Danish Siddiqui, a Reuter’s chief photojournalist has been killed in clashes in Spin Boldak District in Kandhar.

Danish Siddiqui, an Indian photojournalist was covering the situation in Kandhar over the last few days.
As per reports, a convoy of Afghan forces was ambushed in which the Indian photojournalist, Danish Siddiqui was killed.

On Friday, Afghan forces clashed with the Taliban in Spin Boldak after an operation was launched to retake the vital border crossing with Pakistan, AFP reported.

Danish Siddiqui was an Indian photojournalist. In 2018, Danish became the first Indian alongside colleague Adnan Abidi to win the Pulitzer Prize for Feature Photography for documenting the Rohingya Refugee Crisis, as part of the Photography staff of Reuters. One of his photos was featured as one of the defining photographs of 2020 by Reuters, which he clicked during the 2020 Delhi riots.
