Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova condemned on Wednesday the massive explosion at the Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza, which led to the killing of over 500 Palestinians, the Russian news agency TASS reported.
“Naturally, we view such a (…) deadly attack as a crime,” Zakharova reportedly told Sputnik radio, adding:
“(Israel) must not just comment in media outlets or on social media, it must produce the evidence.”
Zakharova also called on the United States to provide satellite images that would help identify the perpetrator of the deadly attack.
For his part, Dmitry Medvedev, the deputy chair of Russia’s National Security Council, described the deadly strike on a hospital in the Gaza Strip as a “heinous military crime.”
“The heinous strike on a hospital in the Gaza Strip undoubtedly constitutes a war crime” TASS quoted Medvedev as saying.
“The ultimate responsibility for it rests on the shoulders of those who are cynically profiting on wars in different countries on different continents, (…) on the United States of America,” Medvedev wrote on his Telegram channel.
3,200 Palestinians have been killed and at least 11,000 wounded since the beginning of the Israeli military operation on the besieged Gaza Strip, on October 7.
