Small Businesses Hit yet Again, Government Bans usage of Newspapers to pack Food

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has hit the small businesses and poor people yet again as they banned the usage of newspapers for packing food and oother edibles.

The Government body has said that it detrimental to health.

The ban like the polythene ban is bound to hit small businesses, the ban on polythene hit the small time businesses while large factories, industries and large scale businesses continue the unabated usage and manufacturing of polythene, Chips packets and other harmful substances.

This is the first time in recent years FSSAI is bringing a new rule relating to packaging of food items. So far, the regulator focused on setting standards for packaged food.
