Srinagar based Ehsaas foundation brings hope to fire-hit Kashmiri pandit families

In a powerful display of communal harmony, the Ehsaas Foundation extended critical support to Kashmiri Pandit families devastated by a massive fire in Purkhoo and Mishriwala villages.

The incident, which left several homes in ruins, became a rallying point for unity as Muslim volunteers from the foundation worked tirelessly to aid their Hindu neighbors.

Responding swiftly to the tragedy, foundation members, including Malik Zahoor, Faheem Reshi, Tahir Peerzada, Burhan Nazir, Farash, Umer, and Harris Hameed, mobilized resources to provide food, clothing, and temporary shelters to the affected families. Beyond material aid, their presence offered emotional solace to the displaced families, reinforcing a sense of shared humanity.

“This isn’t just about providing relief,” said Malik Zahoor, representing the team. “It’s about showing solidarity with our Kashmiri Pandit brothers during their time of need.”

The volunteers’ efforts were warmly received by the affected families, with many expressing gratitude for the compassion and support extended during their darkest hours.

The tragedy served as a reminder of Kashmir’s rich tradition of Hindu-Muslim unity, even amidst decades of conflict and division.

The Ehsaas Foundation’s actions stood as a testament to the enduring bond between communities, emphasizing the values of brotherhood and empathy that transcend religious differences.

For families like that of Rajesh Koul, who lost their home in the fire, the support from the foundation was more than just aid—it was a reaffirmation of unity. “We felt lost, but their kindness restored our faith,” he shared.

“This mission isn’t just about relief; it’s about strengthening the social fabric of Kashmir,” said Faheem Reshi.

The Ehsaas Foundation’s response to the fire serves as a beacon of hope, showcasing the potential for unity in times of crisis.

Burhan Nazir eloquently stated, “This is not just charity; it is a reaffirmation that we are one people, bound together by shared humanity and the spirit of helping each other in times of need.”

The foundation’s actions reflect the timeless ethos of Kashmiriyat—standing together as one, regardless of differences, in the face of adversity.
