One Militant has been killed during the encounter that erupted in Srinagar’s Lawaypora area on Tuesday evening between Militants and Government Forces.
The encounter has entered the second day.
An Official told The Kashmiriyat that the encounter raged in when the Forces zeroed in towards the spot where militants were holed up.
The militants had opened fire during a cordon and search operation launched jointly by 2 Rashtriya Rifles, Jammu Kashmir Police and Central Reserve Police Force late on Tuesday afternoon.
The firing continued for a few hours after which the operation was put at a halt due to the darkness.
He said that during the exchange of gunfire that resumed on Wednesday morning, one Militant has been killed, who is yet to be identified.

The Militants are believed to be hiding in a is concrete house near Lawaypora on the Srinagar- Baramulla Highway.
The officials have also diverted the traffic from here.
