Srinagar minor’s body recovered after three days

The body of a minor boy, who had drowned in flood channel Bemina three days ago, was recovered on Wednesday morning.

An official told the news agency— Kashmir Scroll that a minor boy identified as Ikhlas Qayoom resident of Hamdaniya colony Bemina had drowned in flood channel Bemina on Sunday.

Soon after the incident, joint teams of SDRF, River Police Srinagar, Army, and locals launched a search operation to rescue the minor boy, but could not locate him for three days.

The minor boy’s body was recovered near Hokarsar, a kilometer downstream from the spot of drowning. After legal formalities, the body is handed over to the family for last rites, he said. Meanwhile, police have started an investigation in this regard—(KS)
