Three militants have been killed in an ongoing gunfight between government forces and militants in Zalowa area of Chadoora in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Friday morning
The Jammu Kashmir police said that three militants have been killed, one of them has been identified as Waseem of Srinagar.
Waseem Qadir Mir of Shahzadpora, Nowgam, Srinagar had joined Kashmiri Tigers (Jaish e Muhammad offshoot) on December 20, 2020.
Earlier, an official had said that a joint team of Police, 53 RR of Indian Army and CRPF launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) following specific input about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, which was retaliated, triggering an encounter.
