Rahul Gandhi on a Two Day Visit to Flood Hit Kerala

August 28 The Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday visited the flood hit Kerala and met the affected people. Rahul who is on a two-day visit to the flood hit Kerala had appealed the Central government to provide help to flood-hit Kerala. On Tuesday, Rahul met flood-affected people at Chengannur and is also scheduled to visit flood-hit regions including Alappuzha and Angamaly later in the day. He will also visit flood-affected areas on Wednesday. 265 were killed in the floods that hit the state on 8 August, while 36 people are still missing, according to the latest government figure.  

Modi Supporters Assault Policemen in West Bengal

July 17 BJP members thrashed Police personnel on the way to the rally of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday at West Bengal. Reports revealed that they were on their way to the PM rally, some of them that at Chowringhee area of Kharagpur, about 10 km away from the venue, beat up several policemen because their buses were stopped from reaching the venue. About 20 police officials including a security personnel of additional SP of Kharagpur Y Raghuvanshi had been injured in the attack. Karnataka Government Keep its Promise, Announces 34,000 cr loan waivers to Farmers

July 05 Keeping up the promise Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy coming to the succor of the farming community on Thursday announced waiver of all default crop loans benefiting farmers to the tune of Rs.34,000 crore. Presenting his maiden budget in the Legislative Assembly, Mr Kumaraswamy said crop loans made upto December 31, 2017 would be waived up in the first stage. He said the loan amount would be restricted to Rs.two lakhs As an encouragement to the non defaulting farmers, the Chief Minister has decided to credit the repaid loan amount or Rs.25,000 or whichever is less to each of the farmer’s account.
