A 28-year-old cricketer from Kashmir who met with an accident in Sopore the last month succumbed to his injuries on Thursday morning.
Locals told The Kashmiriyat that Tariq Ahmed Mir, a resident of the Janwara area in Sopore met with an accident at Hangal teng area last month after which he was being treated at the Sher e Kashmir institute of medical sciences in Srinagar.
On Wednesday night, his health deteriorated and he passed away, they said.
His body was handed over to his family members late on Wednesday.
Hundreds of people mostly youth participated in the last rites of Tariq who was a renowned cricketer in north Kashmir.
