Basit Ahmad Wani (19), a NEET aspirant who belongs to Donwethpora, Kokernag has gone missing.

As per the family members who spoke to The Kashmiriyat, Basit left home on August 17, 2021. “The family made a hectic struggle to find him but all in vain,” the family member said.

“If my son has been arrested by security forces, I plead them to give me my son back, he is my only son,” said Basit Wani’s mother.

While pleading his innocence, Basit’s mother said, “I am incomplete without him. It is the 8th day today and we don’t have any information about him. All I want is my son back”.

Asking Basit to return home, Basit’s father told The Kashmiriyat, “Wherever he is right now we request him to come back, we don’t have any information about our son.”

The parents also appealed that the administration helps them finding their son.

Basit’s father added, “I am sure that my son will not take the wrong path. I have taken 13 lakh rupees loan from bank, especially for his studies. I plead to his friends to inform me if they know anything about his whereabouts. I’ll ask him to come back home.”

The Kokernag police station has approached Basit’s family and assured them every kind of legal help in finding their son, the family members told The Kashmiriyat.
