The authorities have resumed work on Amberpora to Haritar road, which was abandoned nearly 5 years back. The abandoned work at the road had caused much resentment among the locals.
The Kashmiriyat, in its 15th November edition, had carried a story highlighting the plight of the people of Sopore town and adjacent vicinity due to lack of proper road connectivity.
Earlier the locals had complained that the road stretch from Amberpora to Haritar, which was considered a priority road, was in shambles. “The road is dotted with potholes which speak volumes about the tall claims of the administration of improving road connectivity,” the residents said.
The road connects vital areas from Sopore to Srinagar, Ganderbal, Bandipora and Baramulla.
A month after The Kashmiriyat carried the news and highlighted the issue in its 15th November edition, the JKPCC authorities swung into action and its officials at Sopore division to initiate the work on the said road without any further delay.
Meanwhile, the residents of Haritar, Amberpora and adjacent villages expressed gratefulness to The Kashmiriyat for highlighting genuine public grievances.
