‘They Can break the state into Two, But They Cannot Break us’- Farooq Abdullah Hits out at BJP

Jammu Kashmir National Conference president Farooq Abdullah once again targetted the Central Government and said the BJP is trying to divide India into pieces. “We are being divided into pieces. Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs are being divided,” he said.

The National Conference Farooq Abdullah attended the 40th foundation day celebrations of the JK National Panthers Party in Jammu where he spoke about several matters concerning the region.

“Why did Maharaja Hari Singh not opt to go with India in 1947; He wanted an independent JK with good relations with Pakistan and China. But Pakistan wanted to destroy us. At that time Sheikh Abdullah said that we will go with India as it is the country where people from all religions live”.

Criticising the abrogation of special status, Dr Farooq Abdullah said the then Maharaja “came with a law in 1927 to save our culture. But now people from outside will come and get jobs here. Where will our children go?”

He warned the gathering saying: “BJP can break the state into two but it cannot break us. They will come and will play the religious card and will ask for votes in the name of Ram but you have to be careful”.
