This Indian News Channel Interpreted Imran Khan’s Goodwill Gesture as ‘Kneeling Down to Knees’

As Pakistan Prime Minister, Imran Khan on Thursday announced the unconditional release of Captured Indian pilot, Abhinandan as a goodwill gesture, sections of mainstream media in India have interpreted it as kneeling down of the Pakistani Prime Minister.

Republic TV, one of India’s most watched television channels ran a ticker shortly after the announcement of the release of the captured Indian pilot, “India Brings Imran Khan to his knees.”

The news channel launched in May 2017 has had a history of running fake and unverified stories, and distorting facts.

The Channel recently claimed that in the recent air bombings conducted by India in Pakistani territory, 245 Militants were killed, however the AVM of Indian Air Force today in a presser clarified today that the number of Militants killed is still unknown.

Ahead of elections, the channel also claimed that the release of Abhinandan was a “Titanic Win for India’ adding that Pakistan had give into the pressure set by India, however in the morning the Indian Government had officially announced that they will not barter any deal for the release of the captured pilot, Abhinadndan.

India on Tuesday said that conducted ‘pre-emptive’ strikes on Jaish Mohammad camp inside Pakistan territory, While on Wednesday Pakistan claimed to have  downed two IAF jets while arresting one pilot.

Members of Indian prime minister Narendra Modi’s Bharitiya Janata Party called for more military action, which experts belive is to gain electoral benefits.

Pakistan’s prime minister Imran Khan called for talks between the two nuclear-armed rivals in a televised address on Wednesday, saying: “Considering the nature of the weapons that both of us have, can we afford any miscalculation?”

The situation escalated with Wednesday’s aerial skirmish, as Pakistan said it had shot down two Indian aircraft, one of which crashed in the Pakistan-held part of Kashmir and the other in India-controlled Kashmir.
