“This Will Push them to The Wall”- Students Summoned to Police Stations Ahead of Polls in South Kashmir

All Jammu Kashmir Students Union  (AJKSU) on Wednesday in a press statement issued to The Kashmiriyat termed the police move of summoning the students from south Kashmir a deplorable.

As per the statement, various students have been summoned to the Police stations ahead of the elections in South Kashmir began yesterday.

Mudasir Dar, AJKSU President, said that, arrests students at the hands of Government forces is pushing the student community to walls, it should be stopped immediately, and those who have been arrested should be released immediately.

Noted student activist Syed Tajamul Imram wrote on his Facebook wall, which reads, “Hundreds of youth have been asked to report a day ahead on polls to their local police station. In this regard, I visited a family of Distt Pulwama. I met a smart, young and energetic boy; who told his ordeal, Despite having a father in the police I too was asked to report at police station (Rajpora Pulwama), “I visited with my mother and faced abuses and humiliation there. There are numerous such examples were family have to face abuses.”
