The Jammu Kashmir Police on Monday claimed to have arrested three drug peddlers in the Shopian district of south Kashmir and recovered three grams of contraband substance from their possession.
A Police official confirming the development to The Kashmiriyat said that three residents of south Kashmir were arrested by Police during a Nakka checking in the south Kashmir district.
The official identified the trio as Amir Ahmed Chopan, a resident of Rajpora Pulwama, Amjad Ali Naikoo, a resident of Ratnipora Shopian, and Zubair Ahmed Sofi.
“Heroin weighing to about 13 grams was recovered from the possession of the trio,” he said.
The official added that an FIR was registered and an investigation taken up in this case under the relevant section of law.
