Three Militants have been killed in the encounter that broke out between government forces and militants in the Amshipora area of of Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday morning.
A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that a cordon and search operation (CASO) was launched in the area by a joint team of forces including Army’s 62RR, CRPF and JK police on specific inputs about the presence of militants in the Amshipora area.
He said that after trapping the militants, they were asked to surrender, however, they opened fire which was retaliated, this triggering an encounter.
The official said that during the gunfight three Militants have been killed, who are yet to be identified.
The search operations to trace out the bodies of slain Militant are still on, the firing has stopped.
Meanwhile, the internet has been snapped in the South Kashmir’s Shopian District.
