Thousands of transporters throughout Jammu Kashmir are gearing up for Wednesday’s ‘Chaka Jam’ (stop wheels) on March 30 to demand the revocation of the four “controversial” orders.

Various transporters have reached Jammu where the biggest protest is being taken out by the amalgam of around 20 transport organizations, the spokesman of a transporters union told The Kashmiriyat.
The transporters have put fourth their demands to the JK admin which involves revocation of the orders stating, reducing the shelf life of vehicles to 20 years, installation of GPS systems, increase on passenger tax and denial of entry into major cities.
Thousands of transporters have been facing the worst brunt of lockdowns after the abrogation of Article 370 and now the transport department wants us to suffer further, the spokesman said.
