Two ‘hybrid’ militants from Anantnag town arrested in Pahalgam attack case

Two individuals hailing from Anantnag town have been arrested in connection with the militant attack on a couple from Rajasthan that occurred last week in Pahalgam.

Officials said that the government forces, including the police, Army’s 3 RR & CRPF, solved the Pahalgam attack by arresting two hybrid militants from Anantnag town.

The two were identified as Waseem Ahmad Shah, son of Abdul Gani Shah, resident of Nambal Mattan and Adnan Ahmad Beigh, son of Ghulam Mohammed Beigh, resident of SK colony, Anantnag.

“One pistol along with a magazine and 8 rounds, 1 grenade, and 120 AK rounds were recovered from their possession,” officials said.

“Terrorists fired upon and injured a woman, Farha, a resident of Jaipur (in Rajasthan) and her spouse Tabrez at Yannar in Anantnag. The injured couple was evacuated to a hospital for treatment. The area has been cordoned off. Further details shall follow,” the Kashmir Zone Police posted on X on May 19.

Tabrez has received an injury on his eye while Farha, the wife, is recovering from her wounds.
