Two militants were killed during an encounter in the Tujan area of South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, officials said on Tuesday.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of police, Army and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operations in the area.
He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter.
He said during the exchange of fire, two militants were killed while the operation is on in the area.
Militant killed in ongoing Sopore encounter
Meanwhile, A senior Police officer said that two militants have been killed in the ongoing encounter in the Sopore area.
Pertinently, Kashmir has reported 16 encounters in ongoing month in which 27 militants have been killed so far while 115 militants have been killed in ongoing year so far—(KNO)
