The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the second special summary revision of photo electoral rolls for all Parliamentary and Assembly constituencies in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, with July 1, 2024, as the qualifying date.
Chief Electoral Officer J&K, P K Pole, issued a notice detailing the timeline for the process. The integrated draft electoral roll will be published on July 25, 2024, with the period for filing claims and objections running from July 25 to August 9, 2024.
Special campaign dates have been set for July 27-28 and August 3-4, 2024.
The Draft Photo Electoral Rolls 2024 will be available at various locations including District Headquarters, Tehsil offices in Srinagar and Jammu, Municipal Corporations, Booth Level Offices at polling stations, and on the CEO J&K website (ceojk.nic.in).
Individuals who are 18 years or older as of July 1, 2024, can enroll in the electoral rolls by filing Form 6 for new registrations. Form 7 is for objections to proposed inclusions or deletions, Form 8 is for corrections, changes of residence, EPIC replacements, and marking persons with disabilities, and Form 6B is for capturing Aadhaar numbers of existing electors. The draft electoral roll can be downloaded from www.ceo.jk.gov.in and www.ceojk.nic.in.
Claims and objections can be submitted online via the Voter’s Service Portal (www.voters.eci.gov.in) or the voter helpline app (VHA), and offline by contacting the concerned BLO, AERO, or ERO.
The notice encourages all stakeholders to participate in the revision exercise to ensure maximum eligible voter enrollment. Additionally, Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (Migrant) in Delhi, Jammu, and Udhampur will receive claims and objections from Kashmiri migrants within their jurisdictions according to the mentioned schedule.
