Weather Likely to improve from Today in Kashmir Valley: Met

The fresh snowfall since Friday threw life out of gear as the Srinagar-Jammu highway remained closed and the air traffic was also suspended but the weather is likely to improve from Sunday afternoon.

“The weather is expected to improve from today afternoon, and is likely to remain dry for this week,” a MeT official said.

The minimum temperatures improved across Jammu Kashmir because of the night-long cloud cover bringing in some respite from the severe cold wave.



The night temperature in Pahalgam settled at a low of minus 2.8 degrees while Gulmarg minus 9-degree Celsius, while in Srinagar the temperatures were recorded at minus 0.4 degrees.

Ladakh’s Leh town recorded minus 6.5 degree Celsius and Drass had minus 9.7 as the minimum temperatures.

Jammu city had 7.3 degrees Celsius, Katra 4, Batote minus 2.5, Banihal minus 1.2 and Baderwah 0.9 as the night’s lowest temperature.
