The Jammu Kashmir women’s development Corporation has been alleged for pick and choose the method in recruiting the employees in the department.
As per the complaints received by the vigilance organisation that 43 appointments/ promotions/ regularisations have been ordered in the department without following proper procedure.
In response to this, the vigilance commission launched a time-bound investigation and they found that illegal appointments have absolutely been made in the department.
As per the document of Right to Information Act (RTI) accessed by The Kashmiriyat, all the appointments were cancelled. “Now, therefore, it is hereby ordered that:
all the appointments made in the J & K State Women’s Development Corporation and listed in Annexure “A” to this Government Order are cancelled forthwith; all the promotions/regularisations made in the J & K State Women’s Development Corporation and listed in Annexure “B” to this Government Order shall remain in abeyance;” the document reads.
Some employees who were asked not to come to the office by higher officials in the department, they said that despite the cancellation of orders still some employees were again engaged through back door entry as a recovery assistant as revealed in RTI reply no: JKWDC/RTI 2018-19 / 5159 – 5160, dated 06-07-2018
One of the employees Ghulam Rasool (name changed) spoke to The Kashmiriyat and said that he was forced to shunt his job by a higher officer in the department as he was raising his voice against this favouritism which was taking place.
“I lodged a complaint In grievance cell too, but I don’t know why our complaints got un-noticed? We knocked the doors of courts too, but the Managing Director of Women’s Development Corporation has political backing, so nothing happened in courts too,” Ghulam alleged.
I tried my best to raise a voice against this, but it’s impossible for me as a common man to resist against this favouritism. He further said whenever the employees tried to raise a voice against this in the department, they were threatened by the officials.
“However, I lost my job because I was financially weak, I couldn’t fight with this favouritism. I was asked to shunt my job without issuing any notice, ” Rasool added.
Nahida Soz heads Women’s Development Corporation from a decade. He said that the Government has forgotten to implement the transfer policy on her. “Where is the transfer policy for her?” he questioned.
Meanwhile, when The Kashmiriyat contacted Rajesh Sharma principal secretary of Lieutenant Governor he said that such reports are not in his knowledge. He said that he will inquire the matter.
However, when contacted to the Managing Director of state women’s development Corporation, her number was out of reach.
