Yasin Malik appears virtually in NIA plea seeking death penalty for him

The chairman of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Mohammed Yasin Malik on Wednesday appeared virtually in an appeal filed by NIA seeking the death penalty for the leader.

Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik appears via VC before Delhi High Court in the appeal moved by #NIA seeking the death penalty for him in a terror funding case. He has been awarded life imprisonment.

Yasin Malik is currently serving life imprisonment after he was convicted in a militancy funding case last year. He has been lodged at Tihar Jail since then.

The court adjourned the matter due to non-availability of the bench.

The judges are gathered at the full court reference proceeding at the Apex Court in the memory of the Late Justice Tarun Chatterjee, Former Judge, of the Supreme Court of India.

Justice Chatterjee passed away on July 8, 2023.
