Zakir Musa Puts Entire Punjab on Alert

The Punjab Police have been put on high alert following intelligence regarding movement of the chief of Jammu and Kashmir-based Militant outfit Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind near Amritsar. The group is said to have links with the Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

The Punjab Police has said that they have received an input regarding Zakir Musa’s movement a few days ago near Amritsar, after which they have released and pasted his ‘wanted’ posters across the Amritsar District.

The Police said that security had been beefed up and extra forces deployed.

Separately, the counter intelligence wing of the Punjab Police on Thursday issued a circular regarding infiltration of six to seven JeM terrorists from the international border in Ferozepur area of Punjab.

“They are reportedly planning to move towards Delhi from Punjab side,” read the note issued by the Counter Intelligence Inspector General.
