In 2023, zero incidents of stone pelting, militancy related violence has come down by 69 per cent: Government

On March 4, the Ministry of Home Affairs disclosed that during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decade-long tenure, Jammu Kashmir witnessed a significant 69 percent reduction in militancy-related incidents.

Additionally, the Kashmir Valley reported a notable 100 percent decline in stone-pelting occurrences, with zero instances recorded in 2023, as stated by the Ministry.

Moreover, the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir experienced an 81 percent decrease in civilian fatalities and a 47 percent reduction in security force casualties under the Modi administration’s tenure.

“The government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, remains steadfast in prioritizing the security of the people of Jammu Kashmir. The abrogation  of Article 370 and the firm stance against terrorism have played pivotal roles in fostering a secure and tranquil atmosphere,” affirmed the Ministry of Home Affairs.
