11 More Central Laws in Jammu Kashmir- Centre Issues 136-Page Notification

The Central Government has issued another notification giving effect to 11 central laws in Jammu Kashmir with immediate effect.

Along with this, the names of ten state laws have also been changed according to the change in the status of the state of Jammu Kashmir, The Ministry of Home Affairs has said in a 136-page notification that the two orders will be called the second and third orders 2020, the Union Territory of Jammu Kashmir Reorganization (combination of central laws).

This notification has been issued by Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla.

The notification states that some words have also been changed in certain state laws made by the Jammu Kashmir State Legislative Assembly before August 5, 2019.

The terms State and Government have been changed from the Union Territory of Jammu Kashmir, the Union Government of Jammu Kashmir, respectively, while the term of the Union Territory of Jammu Kashmir has been applied for the entire State of Jammu Kashmir.

Among the state laws that have been changed are Jammu Kashmir Municipal Act 2000, Jammu Kashmir Municipal Corporation Act 2000, Jammu Kashmir School Education Act 2002, Jammu Kashmir School Education Board Act 1975, Jammu Kashmir Cooperative Society Act 1989, Jammu Kashmir Self-Reliant Corporate Act 1999 and Salaries and Allowances of Members of Jammu and Kashmir State Legislature Act 1960, Salary and Allowances of Leaders of Opposition in Jammu Kashmir Legislature Act 1985, Jammu Kashmir Goods and Services Tax Act 2017 and Jammu and Kashmir Metropolitan Region Development Authority Act 2018.
