200 Militants Killed in 2018, 109 in South Kashmir

At least 200 Militants including locals have been killed this year during Anti Militancy operations by Government Forces in 2018 so far.

Most of the slain Militants belonged to the Militant outfit Lashkar e Taiba (LeT), the exact number of LeT Militants killed stand at 53.

One of the oldest Surviving Militants of Lashkar e Taiba Showkat Ahmed Tak and popular South Kashmir commander, Shakoor Ahmed Dar are included in the list of 53 slain lashkar Militants.

The List also includes the Operational commander of Lashkar e Taiba in North Kashmir, Abu Maaz.

The South Kashmir has witnessed the killings of 109 militants while in north Kashmir the number was 45.

Among the major operations was the killing of Abu Hamaas in March 2018, which was followed by that of Sameer Ahmad Bhat alias Sameer Tiger in Shopian on April 1.

Over the next few months, top militant commanders like Saddam Paddar, Showkat Tak Altaf Kaczroo were killed. Last month witnessed the deaths of 27 militants, which included Mannan Wani, Mehrajudin Bangroo and Sabzar Ahmad Sofi.

In addition, 50 Militants were also arrested while five Militants reportedly surrendered before the forces.
