After Boys, Girls Fall Prey to Drugs in Kashmir

July 02 Tawseef Nazir   The Drug abuse is certainly growing among youth in Kashmir Valley and now girls especially in the age group 16-23 too are becoming addicts to drugs. Sources revealed to The Kashmiriyat that ‘glue sniffing’ has become widespread among girls because it is  voluntarily found in petrol, diesel, varnishes, paint thinners, and many other things easily available to the girls. Militant Attack in Pulwama

July 02 Suspected Militants on Monday hurled a Grenade towards a camp of 182 BN and 183 BN CRPF in Bonera area of South Kashmir's Pulwama District. Sources told The Kashiriyat that the grenade exploded outside the walls of the camp and nobody was injured in the attack. July 02 The Government forces have laid down a Cordon and search operation in Wuyan Area of Pampore area in South Kashmir's Pulwama District on Monday. Sources told The Kashmiriyat that  RR of Indian Army, Jammu Kashmir Police and CRPF laid down the Search operation jointly. "The Operation was launched after troopers received a specific input about Militant movement in the area," Sources said. A Door to door search operation has been launched in the area. Earlier a CASO had been launched in Zaffran Colony of Pampore Area.

105 Militants Killed So Far in 2018

July 02 As of 30 June 2018, a total of 105 militants and 21 Government Force personnel have been killed in Kashmir this year, as per figures available to The Kashmiriyat. July 02 The flood situation in Assam continues to be grim as the death toll has reached 32 and at least 63,000 people have been affected across five districts of Assam with the MeT department having predicted more rain in the coming days. Lakhimpur District is the worst-hit with nearly 32,000 being affected, followed by Charaideo with around 29,000 flood-hit people, local reports revealed. The Indian home minister Rajnath Singh has assured the Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal of full assistance from the Centre to tide over the situation.
