A look at the teaser which has shown the photo of former Al Qaeda head, Osama Bin Laden, Ajmal Kasab and then mixed up the photo of Yakub Memon, in it is a clear indication that the film focuses on Muslims. After the photo of Yakub, who was an accused in the 1993 Bombay blasts, the trailer moves back to the image of Masood Azhar and Hafiz Saeed who have been declared terrorists by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The trailer of the Bollywood film was released by the co-director of the film Ashoke Pandit, a Kashmiri Pandit. “As promised presenting to you the first look of our film #72Hoorain . I am sure you will like it . What if you end up dying a brutal death instead of meeting 72 virgins, as assured by terrorist mentors? Presenting the first look of my upcoming film “72 Hoorain”. The film is slated to release on 7 July, 2023,” Ashoke Pandit wrote on his twitter.

The film is directed by National Award winner Sanjay Puran Singh and produced by Gulab Singh Tanwar. The Aamir Bashir and Pawan Malhotra starrer ’72 Hoorein’ will be released in theaters on July 7, 2023.

The director of the film while releasing the trailer said, “These people inject poison in their minds and make common people suicide bombers. We must remember that the attackers are from families like ours who are victims of perverted beliefs and brainwashing by terrorist leaders and lead them on the path of destruction. Apart from this, common people get trapped in the illusionary web of 72 fairies (hoorein).”

Notably, 72 Hoorain is the third hindi film in less than two years to claim that it focuses on the subject of Islamic extremism. Earlier two more films, The Kashmir files, The Kerala Story were released with the same tagline.

The films that were promoted by the ruling party and made tax free in several states triggered several attacks on the Muslim community in parts of India.

The movies have received widespread condemnation from Muslims and other quarters of the society. Several opposition leaders said that the Bhartiya Janta party was using the movies for their electoral gains.

Several Prominent international filmmakers referred to The Kashmir Files as ‘propaganda’ as the film portrayed several incidents which had no distant connection with reality.
