Army Blocks Srinagar Highway, Thrashes Pulwama Residents

The Indian Army has blocked the traffic movement on the National Highway near Awantipora in South Kashmir’s Pulwama District.

Eyewitnesses told The Kashmiriyat that the traffic from Srinagar plying towards Islamabad (anantnag) was stopped creating a traffic mess on the national Highway around 2 PM.

Eyewitnesses said that drivers from Pulwama were assaulted, after being abused by the Army men.

Amid, high Frisking of passenger vehicles, Three youth stopped on the highway were asked to kneel down on their knees.

After being forced to kneel on their knees, the forces beat these three youth to pulp without any provocation.

A few vehicles tried to stop and help these youth, the Army men also thrashed them.

They, as per eyewitnesses have created, a fear among travellers.

45 CRPF men had been killed in a deadly attack on CRPF men in Pulwama attack on Thursday when a Jaish affiliate rammed his car into a CRPF convoy.

Rajnath Singh, the Indian home minster, during his visit to pay tributes to slain CRPF men had said that movement of loval vehicles will be barred when convoy plies on the highway.

An official, however denied the fact that anyone was thrashed by army.
