Kashmir- Student Missing Since 13 September, Friends Demand Release

The colleagues of Mohammed Iqbal Rather today staged a protest demonstration in Srinagar to demand the release of A 22 year old youth from Charar e Shareef area of Central Kashmir who had gone missing from his home on 13th September.

Mohammed Iqbal Rather son of Abdul Khaliq Rather, a student of BSc Nursing at Sher e Kashmir institute of Medical Sciences in Srinagar went missing on Thursday.

Friends of iqbal who held a protest demonstration at Srinagar today told The Kashmiriyat that there has been no trace of Iqbal since 13th September.

“We tried to seek police help, who said that he is not in their custody, but we have been informed by people that he has been detained by NIA,” a friend of Iqbal told The Kashmiriyat.

The family of Iqbal has also sought the help of Police who say that Iqbal has not been detained by the Forces.

A Police official told The Kashmiriyat that they are trying to locate Iqbal.
