Two troopers were killed and five others injured during a gunfight between Militants and 22 RR of Indian Army, 92 battalion CRPF and SOG in in the intervening Night of Thursday and Friday at Babagund village of Handwara in North Kashmir’s Kupwara District.
Officials told The Kashmiriyat that Militants opened fire when a party of joint forces had laid siege to the area following inputs about the Militant movement in the area.
Earlier, it was reported that two Militants have been killed during the ensuing gunfight.
However no dead body has been recovered as of yet from the site of encounter.
Intense clashes had also erupted around the encounter site in the Babagund area.
As per the latest reports available to The Kashmiriyat fresh firing has resumed at the site of encounter.
In the fresh exchange of fire, 1 CRPF Man, 01 cop of Jammu Kashmir Police were killed and five forces personal Injured.
