Three Militants slain in the Shopian’s Keller encounter during an encounter have been identified as Locals, however officials are yet to confirm their identity.
Militants on Thursday morning had opened fire on troopers who had laid siege around the Yawran area of Keller in South Kashmir’s Shopian.
The cordon continued for nearly two to three hours, during which the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter, All the entry and exit points of the area have been sealed by the Forces.
Sources identified the Slain Militants as Aaqib Ahmad from Bhatnoora from Lassipora Pulwama, Basharat Ahmad from Wasoora Pulwama and Sajad Ahmed Khanday from Bamnoo in Shopian’s Keller.
The Officials however have not confirmed the identity of the slain Militants yet, but their bodies have been recovered from the site of the encounter.
